Congratulations to Mads Sjøgård Pettersen (Olaf in “Metal Girl“) in the role of Marius Grønnvoll in “12th Man”, which opened Dec. 25, 2017 in Norway. The thrilling biopic story of survival of the Norwegian WWII resistance fighter Jan Baalsrud, “12th Man” stars Thomas Gullestad in the lead role along with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, and Marie Blokhus.

Directed by Harald Zwart ( The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, The Karate Kid), the film was shot in Norway and Scotland and produced by Nordisk Film Production and Zwart Abeid. The film is set for North American distribution by IFC Films.

“Above the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway, the dramatic story of the young resistance fighter, Jan Baalsrud, unfolds. Jan is the only one, out of twelve resistance fighters to escape the Germans, but the Gestapo is on his heels. Jan’s moral fiber, incredible strength and his courageous countrymen keeps him alive. But when he seeks refuge in a mountain cave and ends up being trapped by a blizzard for two weeks all hope seems lost. Nevertheless, Jan is recovered, weak, frostbitten and barely alive, but one question remains; will he make it to neutral Sweden before the Germans find him.” [courtesy TrustNordisk]   (Pictured: Marie Blokhus and Mads Pettersen in “12th Man”)
